What is your role at Managed IT Experts?
I’m Lovro Suhadolnik and I am a Business Analyst and Technical Manager for Dynamics 365 and other Cloud solutions projects at Managed IT Experts.
My responsibilities include everything from gathering and analyzing data to identify business requirements and potential solutions, to working with project stakeholders to create functional specifications and communicating on project progress.
Can you tell us a little about your career history to date?
I studied at University where I developed a strong foundation in computer engineering. After graduation, I started my career as a junior software developer, working on various projects for different clients.
I had a keen interest in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and decided to specialize in this area and gained certification as a Microsoft Dynamics developer. Over the years, I’ve worked on many different projects and worked with clients from various industries including retail, IT and tourism.
Which specific areas of IT specialism do you focus on?
I specialise in two key areas:
- Development Microsoft Dynamics 365 – where I’m responsible for gather data and requirements for our Dynamics projects and working with the technical teams to ensure the solutions we deliver meet business requirements
- Development using Microsoft Power Platform – where I’m responsible for designing and building applications using the Microsoft Power Platform – which includes working with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and associated products like Microsoft Azure.
What do you like most about your job?
I love my job as a Microsoft Power Platform Developer because I get to make a real impact on businesses by providing them with efficient and effective solutions. The low-code development capabilities of the platform allow me to build custom applications quickly and with ease – which is incredibly satisfying!
What I appreciate most about the Microsoft Power Platform is its versatility. It’s not just a single tool, but a collection of tools that provide end-to-end capabilities for custom business applications, workflow automation and interactive data reporting and analysis. It’s amazing to have all these capabilities in one platform and be able to provide a complete solution to clients.
Another aspect of my job that I find incredibly rewarding is the collaboration aspect. The platform has many features that make it easy for team members to work together seamlessly and share information and insights easily. I love being part of a team that is able to deliver effective solutions to clients by working together efficiently.
I am passionate about innovation and love using the latest technologies to solve complex business problems. The Microsoft Power Platform is always evolving and providing new capabilities, which keeps my job exciting and challenging. I am constantly learning and growing in my role, and I take pride in staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the platform and technology.
Most importantly, I love the impact I am able to make on my clients’ businesses. Improving their processes and providing new insights into their operations is incredibly satisfying, and I feel proud to be able to contribute to their success. Overall, my job as a Microsoft Power Platform Developer is challenging, rewarding, and constantly evolving. Which is why I love it so much.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the IT and Cloud services industry
Starting out in the IT and Cloud services industry can be a bit overwhelming, but with a few key tips, you can set yourself up for success. Here are mine:
- First and foremost, it’s important to have a strong foundation in computer science and programming. This will give you the skills you need to be successful in the industry.
- Once you have a strong foundation, you should focus on a specific area of the industry. There are many different subfields within IT Support Services and Cloud services, such as web development, cloud computing and data analysis. By focusing on one area, you can become an expert in that field and make yourself more valuable to employers.
- Another important aspect of success in this industry is hands-on experience. Try to participate in internships, projects, or other opportunities where you can apply what you have learned. This will also help you build your portfolio and network.
- The IT and Cloud services industry is constantly evolving, so it’s important to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and technologies. Read industry publications, attend conferences, and take online courses to continue your education. This will help you stay competitive and valuable in the industry.
- Networking is also key to success in this field. Attend events, join professional organizations, and participate in online communities to make connections with others in the industry. This will help you stay informed and expand your opportunities.
- It’s also important to be adaptable in the IT and Cloud services industry. Be open to change and willing to learn new skills and technologies. Being adaptable and flexible will make you more competitive and valuable in the industry.
- Finally, always focus on delivering value to your clients. Whether you’re working on a project or providing support, strive to make a positive impact on their business. This will help you build a strong reputation and establish yourself as a trusted and valued professional in the industry.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
First and foremost, I am driven by my passion for delivering results and making a positive impact in the world. I am always seeking out new and challenging projects that will test my abilities and push me to be my best. I thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment that comes from successfully managing complex projects.
In addition, I am confident in my skills and abilities, and I am always willing to take on new challenges and tackle obstacles head-on. This allows me to make bold decisions, take calculated risks, and achieve great things.
Furthermore, I am motivated by my team and the people I work with. I enjoy working with motivated and talented individuals and I feel a great sense of satisfaction when I am able to help others achieve their goals. I am also motivated by the positive impact that my work has on the people and organizations I serve, and I am always looking for ways to make a positive difference in their lives.
What are your hobbies when you are not at work?
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, taking long walks with my wife and playing guitar.
Family is very important to me, and I always try to make time for my loved ones, no matter how busy my schedule might be. Reading is a great way for me to unwind and learn new things, and I particularly enjoy non-fiction books on a wide range of topics. Podcasts are a great way for me to stay informed and entertained on the go, and I enjoy listening to a variety of shows on subjects such as current events, science, and different management techniques. Travel is a passion of mine, and I love exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and making memories with my wife. Taking long walks with my wife is also a great way for us to stay active, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
Finally, playing guitar is a hobby that allows me to tap into my creative side, express myself, and unwind after a busy day.
