The customer challenge

Shared Care Scotland helps carers and works to improve the quality, choice and availability of short breaks (respite care) across Scotland. And their IT was in equal need of care.

The client had an eight-year old server that needed replaced. On top of this, there was also a desire to help everyone work remotely and to improve on their disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Shared Care Scotland were looking for an IT solution that would effectively remove the IT burden and allow them to focus on supporting the delivery of care which is their primary focus.

The solution

We were able to work with Shared Care Scotland to fully understand their organisational needs and create a solution tailored to those.

This involved moving them onto a Microsoft Cloud-based solution including cloud based email which provided the flexible working capability that their staff needed. It means that they are now able to, not only hot-desk in the office but also work from anywhere and on any device.

The initial transition resulted in very healthy Capital Savings of around £4,023 and they have also benefitted from Energy Efficiency improvements of between 50 – 60%. Which is another saving of around £2,506 over a 5 year period.
