Seamless Email Migration to Cloud

KDM Shopfitting, established leaders in the fit-out and shopfitting sector based in Dalgety Bay, Fife, faced challenges with their outdated on-premises Exchange Email Server, impacting communication and security.

Situation Overview

We identified that KDM’s reliance on an obsolete email system was hindering their operational efficiency and security. The need for a robust, scalable solution was evident to support their widespread communication needs.

Objective

Our goal was to transition KDM Shopfitting to a modern, cloud-based email infrastructure, enhancing reliability and security while minimising downtime and data loss during the migration process.

Strategy and Implementation

After a thorough evaluation, we selected Microsoft Office 365’s Exchange Online as the optimal solution. Our approach included:

• Gradual migration planning to ensure a seamless transition.
• Implementing safeguards to prevent email loss.
• Personalized training and support for the transition of 60 users, ensuring zero disruption to their daily operations.

Results

The migration to the cloud has markedly improved KDM Shopfitting’s productivity and collaboration capabilities, enabling access across multiple devices and fostering remote working. This strategic move has also delivered cost savings and bolstered business continuity with enhanced email system reliability.
